Abstract

The aim of the paper is to highlight the strategic value of the purchase function, its orientation to the goals and the position in the entire value chain, in order to try to create an adequate theoretical and methodological concept for analyzing the procurement function. The traditional approach to the procurement analysis is oriented to the prices of the procurement facilities, which does not correspond to the real needs of the company. The modern approach emphasizes the necessity of developing a procurement analysis model based on the analysis of financial and non-financial information in order to improve the efficiency and competitiveness of manufacturing enterprises in the Republic of Serbia.
