Dr. Csongor HERKE professor is head of Department of Criminal and Civil Procedure
Law, Faculty of Law, University of Pรฉcs (Hungary). Outside of his university activities โ€“ after
passing the bar exam in 1997 โ€“ he is part-time attorney-at-law.

In August 2003, he was nominated supervisor of the bar exam. As member of the Department, he teaches Criminal Procedure Law and Forensic Science. He has published more than three hundred publications in the field of criminal procedure, forensics and education (https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/author/10012298?&labelLang=eng), he wrote three comprehensive
monographs, thirteen Hungarian and two English collections of lecture notes, chapters in
various collections of twenty-five textbooks and lecture notes (four of them is foreign
language).

The defence of his PhD dissertation took place in 2001. In 2008 he habilitated and
acquired the academic doctorate in 2013. He is the head of the Doctoral School of the Faculty
of Law of the University of Pรฉcs from 2023. He delivered many talks at various conferences
in Hungary and abroad as well. He is not only an active participant of conferences, organized
a number of conferences in Hungary.

He member of the editorial boards of several Hungarian and foreign scientific societies and journals. As a recognition of his research conducted at the University of Pรฉcs, he was awarded the Abay Neubauer Gyula Prize in 2002. He has been rewarded by the Scientific Council of the University of Pรฉcs because of his high-quality research in 2013. In 2015 he received the โ€œVรกmbรฉry Rusztem Commemorative Medalโ€ for his work as an outstanding researcher and workshop-maker and for his commitment to criminal justice policy from the Hungarian Criminology Society.
